You're only really looking at 5/5/5 in the later Defence missions (assuming the waves don't bug or whatever causes you to kill every attacking unit that comes to you and only get 40-60% killed on your score). 5/5/3 is your aim for most missions and will get you the extra 2 deployments in almost all cases. In order to maintain good score, and level up - which is what everyone wants - you have to clear an entire map without losing any troops, in an average amount of time. In fact, in general, the scoring system is really bad. You know, break away from the old Starcraft design of, "here are hundreds of units and bases, now slowly work your way through them all carefully." I really hope with later campaigns they go deeper into that style of gameplay than just hunting down and killing everything bit by bit. At the moment, they have a sort of "Kill Ten Rats" Action RPG thing going on for everything except Defence missions, Angel Gate and the McGuffin Array.

I didn't care about map rotation (the only one that actually gets rotated is the Typhon Arena), but was more annoyed at how many missions devolved into, "slowly pull everything," because of the way the scoring system worked.
